Saba Lou & Oska Wald (Chuckamuck/Die Verlierer) @ Cafébar Mona

Saba Lou and Oska Wald will be sharing the stage again in April, this time with their solo projects & bands. A double headline tour in a class of its own, presented by ByteFM and Bretford.

Saba Lou Khan grew up with rhythm & blues, soul, punk, spiritual space jazz and classic rock n' roll. Her debut single, released when she was just 6 years old, is about her first day at school after moving to Berlin. Her ethereal voice and powerful lyrics make Saba Lou's music and performances a timeless swirl of harmony and philosophy. In April she will be playing songs from her brand new album and some classics from "Planet Enigma" and "Novum Ovum". Her 60s RnB/Soul/Country sound is infused with the jazz background of the band she will be performing with for the first time since the Corona pandemic, Omri Gondor (drums), Amit Alcalai-Duvnjak (keys) and new on bass space-age musician Adi Gelbart.

Oska Wald (Chuckamuck/Die Verlierer) released his solo album on Bretford Records in 2022. On "Motel Reno" he plays with old-fashioned lo-fi neo-folk craftsmanship. Named in homage to a video series by filmmaker George Kuchar, the subject of "Motel Reno" is ultimately the inner space of Oska Wald, who, like Kuchar, knows how to transform the banal and mundane into the stuff of eternal weight and strength. Wald is accompanied by his backing band LAZY HORSE, consisting of writer and comic artist Al Burian on bass and Big Daddy Mugglestone on drums. Together they play a sound for friends of Michael Hurley and Jonathan Richman.
