Salon Afterglow

In the organizer's words:

Salon Afterglow

Series of events for FLINTA+ people from Team Beige

We celebrate weddings, proms and housewarming parties, but many caesuras in women's lives go unnoticed and unshared. Salon Afterglow is a friendly space for all FLINTA* people to explore social transitions, celebrate feminist perspectives and discover artistic approaches to care, work and the body. Here, doors open to transitions that we sense but rarely name. Experts from art, science and practice will contribute their perspectives. Drinks and snacks await afterwards.

Texts, rituals and performative moments: Salon Afterglow is an invitation to all thinkers, listeners, contemplators, perseverers and ladies. Each salon has its own theme.

Free admission, please register by e-mail to vermittlung@pathos.theater

#01: The guardian of the gaps

What if the tooth fairy came not only to children, but also to adults who lose a tooth that was intended to be permanent - and who suddenly have to learn what an implant costs and need financial and emotional support? What if she showed up when we realized: This gap no longer closes by itself. Not in the mouth, not in life. In the first salon, we meet the guardian of the gaps. She not only collects teeth, but also missed age limits, torn body (parts) and all the possibilities and abilities that have silently disappeared. During her visit, she invites us to entrust her with a gap of our own - because what is missing also belongs to us.

#02: Saying goodbye to the household

What happens when a child's room becomes empty? When the bowl is left on the floor but nobody drinks from it? When we sleep alone in a new apartment for the first time - among cardboard boxes, strange noises and quiet hope? Salon Afterglow invites you to an evening about farewells that hardly anyone celebrates and new beginnings that we often experience alone. We share our empty rooms with the ghosts of the departed (the dog with the dignity of Hamlet's father), we tilt our heads and remember that farewell is never absence, but a different way of staying.

#03: The means of women

The first big deal, the first personal bankruptcy, the first personal investment. What happens when we take money into our hands for the first time that belongs entirely to us, start our first company, sign our first declaration of insolvency, sit in a negotiation for the first time, have to understand an investment advisor? In the third Salon Afterglow, we talk about money, power and self-determination. Together we will explore the moments when money changes our lives.

The content of the other events will be announced soon.
