Salon – Im Gespräch mit Hilary Hahn

Hilary Hahn up close: In a personal conversation, Intendant Raphael von Hoensbroech elicits musical and anecdotal information, background and program details of the festival from our Curating Artist of the 2023/24 season.

It has always been a great pleasure to welcome Hilary Hahn to the Konzerthaus Dortmund. Twice the world-renowned violinist has been on stage here: in 2014 with a recital, and in October 2022 with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra. Under the direction of Lahav Shani, the American violinist thrilled audiences with Dvořák's Violin Concerto. In the 2023/24 season now comes the opportunity to get to know Hilary Hahn in all her facets for a whole week: as a conversation partner in the Salon with Intendant Raphael von Hoensbroech, as a lecturer in a masterclass, as a concert planner in the background, in relaxed baby concerts, in a duo with organist Iveta Apkalna, with different chamber music instrumentations in just one concert, and of course as a soloist with orchestra in two popular violin concertos.
