Salon Narrativ Vol I: Amir Gudarzi
Amir Gudarzi opens the Salon Narrativ with a reading from his novel "The End is Near". He tells the story of a young man from Tehran who, as a critical author, is forced to leave his country in 2009 and who, by fleeing to Vienna, turns from an artist into an openly and secretly despised refugee. A novel about foreignness and being an outsider, about courage, the power of language and love.
Salon Narrativ is a place for reading and discussion. There is a new German literature by authors who talk about their experiences and deal with topics ranging from post-migrant literature to experimental poetry, bringing together new perspectives and aesthetics.
In addition to Amir Gudarzi's reading from "The End is Near", Roxanna Safarabadi and Steffen Siegmund will read excerpts from his dramatic work. Thalia dramaturge Matthias Günther will moderate, curator Mohammed Ghunaim will play records.
