Salvador Sobral devoted himself to jazz early on and found his way back to it via detours. In between, the Portuguese singer and songwriter surprisingly won the "Eurovision Song Contest" in 2017, survived a heart transplant and wrote more and more of his own songs with artful pop influences. Rich in nuance and expressive, Sobral talks about his life.
"Timbre", the fourth studio album of the Portuguese musician, contains eleven new original songs, ten of which were written in collaboration with Leo Aldrey, who is also responsible for the production of the album. The name "Timbre" has two facets. The first, perhaps the most obvious, is that Salvador Sobral is first and foremost a singer, a performer, and what defines and distinguishes him most is his voice, his timbre. The second reason is that he was interested in the concept of timbre as color, the color of the voice, the color of the instruments. The record will be like a colorful palette of timbres that trigger clarity.
