Ethno, world music and fusionJazz from Israel
SANDIA presents innovative jazz music that combines ethnic and fusion influences and inspires a wide audience with its special blend of groove, fascinating melodies and complexity.
SANDIA is a quartet consisting of saxophone, piano, bass guitar and drums.
The music is original and influenced by many genres. Although jazz is at the center, ethnic influences - from Jewish and Israeli to Arabic music - as well as fusion elements can be recognized. Asymmetrical rhythms and polyphonic melodies that complement and contrast each other at the same time are characteristic features of the compositions. Despite their complexity, the melodies are captivating and groovy, so that many listeners are still singing along after the concert. No one can remain unmoved after listening to the quartet, as their playing is captivating and full of emotion. SANDIA has already given numerous concerts throughout Israel, including at the renowned Beit Haamudim jazz club.
The group members have different musical backgrounds and experiences, for example in the field of jazz classics and even hip-hop styles.
