Sandra Chatterjee: Dance with the Stars

Inspired by Nyota Inyoka (1896-1971), a now almost forgotten pioneer of European modern dance, Sandra Chatterjee & Friends develop a dance theater piece and transport Inyoka's radical approach of combining non-European aesthetics with modern dance into the here and now. The performance combines decolonial, feminist and anti-patriarchal perspectives into a ritual of recognition and challenges stereotypes.

Following the premiere of the piece as part of the Tanzwelten exhibition at the Bundeskunsthalle in Bonn, Dance with the Stars can be experienced for the first time in Munich.
