Sanssouci-Konzert: Partita

Harpsichordist, organist, conductor and indisputable pioneer of historical performance practice: "His credo is not authenticity, but liveliness", wrote BR about Trevor Pinnock, who has been one of KAP's closest musical partners for many years. On this concert evening in the Friedenskirche, he shows that he is no longer exclusively historical. "Reimagined" is his first performance of the famous Partita No. 5 by Johann Sebastian Bach. This is followed by the second symphony by Swiss composer Arthur Honegger, which reveals new, interwoven worlds of sound and finally dissolves into a sophisticated chorale based on Bach's model. The "Oxford" Symphony by Joseph Haydn, on the other hand, impresses with its weightlessness and transparency - its "Adagio" is considered one of Haydn's most famous and beautiful symphonic movements.
