In the organizer's words:
J. S. Bach under Strohm
Johann Sebastian Bach's First Cello Suite is right at the top of the classical hit list. Here you can hear the famous prelude and the subsequent dance movements in a slightly different timbre, played on the viola. In her program, Swiss violist Sarah Strohm, who won 1st prize at the Concours de Genève in her home city in 2025, spans an arc from Bach's baroque tonal language to Franz Schubert's lyrical "Arpeggione" Sonata and into the early 20th century with Paul Hindemith, who also played the viola himself.
