On April 17, 2026, Sascha Kleinophorst will present his new solo program for the first time at Capitol Mannheim. Under the title "A solo-free solo evening", the guitar-playing singer invites you to an evening that is approachable, musically diverse and full of personal stories. No band, no big show - just Sascha, his guitar and his unmistakable stage presence.

And a looper.

For more than three decades, the singer, guitarist, performer and stage performer has been moving through the region's musical landscapes with great ease. His musical biography is characterized by versatility: he was and is the frontman of various rock formations, such as saftWerk or We Rock Queen, and has played on big stages with his band Brass Machine - even twice at the legendary jazz festival in Montreux. He is also a familiar face at Capitol Mannheim: he has been part of the Capitol ensemble for many years and has appeared on the Capitol stage in a wide variety of plays - The Mannheim Jungle Book, Harold & Maude, HAIR and, of course, the long-running hit I Want It All, to name but a few.

Now he is looking for new musical challenges and - inspired by the master Christof Brill - has been encouraged to use the looper to create musical spaces that could otherwise only be filled by an entire band. The grand master of looping Ed Sheeran was also a great inspiration for the program selection, and you will certainly hear more than just one song from him. But Sascha also plays his own songs and selected cover versions that have accompanied him for years. Well-known pieces often appear in surprisingly new guises - rhythmic, polyphonic, atmospherically dense.

The combination of voice, guitar and looping creates a sound that seems surprisingly big and yet retains its intimate, handmade touch.

Only one guitar solo - you will look in vain for that on the solo-free solo evening.
