Schmutzwasser und schöne Künste // Theaterführung
In the organizer's words:
How does a pumping station become a theater? And what does this wondrous metamorphosis reveal about urban planning and urban society? Hardly any other building in Münster has undergone such a radical transformation as the Theater im Pumpenhaus. Built at the beginning of the last century to transport wastewater out of the city, the building has now served as a venue for theater, performance, and dance for 40 years. On Open Monument Day®, we’ll take our audience behind the scenes for fascinating insights into an unlikely story that bridges the gap between wastewater and the fine arts.
