On February 5, the Schnickschnack Poetry Slam will finally return to the Pink Palace in the Hofgarten!
Düsseldorf's youngest poetry slam will once again take place every 1st Thursday of the month at the Theatermuseum - and we have a few surprises in store for 2026. In February, we'll start the new year in the traditional way and look forward to another fantastic poetry slam season with you.
What kind of show is it actually? A poetry slam is a modern poetry competition which, despite its status as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, follows very simple rules: Self-written texts are performed on stage without props or music and the audience decides who wins the evening.
What the artists bring to the stage is entirely up to them. So it can be crackingly funny or magically tender, political or funny or serious... or all of the above. Whether poetry, prose or somewhere in between, everything is allowed at a poetry slam.
The evening will be hosted by Morgaine Prinz, Paula Höll and Svenja Przigoda. The line-up once again includes old hands and the most promising newcomers on the scene!
[The Schnickschnack Slam is organized by the Musenkollektiv - an association of regional artists with a queerfeminist background - and the Freundeskreis des Theatermuseums Düsseldorf, with the kind support of the Theatermuseum Düsseldorf and Lektora Verlag].
