Schnickschnack Poetry Slam
In the organizer's words:
Düsseldorf's newest poetry slam takes place every month on the first Thursday at the Theatermuseum!
After a spectacular away show at the Goethe Museum during the Lovebird Festival in June, we’re returning to our beautiful home at the Pink Palace in July.
On stage, you can look forward to:
Valo Christiansen
Julia Jagoda
Tobias Beitzel
Irmke v. Schlichting
Kamila Dobner & Paula Höll will host the evening and put on an outstanding show for you!
So what kind of show is this, anyway? A poetry slam is a modern poetry competition that, despite its status as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, follows very simple rules: self-written texts are performed on stage without props or music, and the audience decides who wins the night.
What the artists bring to the stage is entirely up to them. So it can be side-splittingly funny or enchantingly tender, political or humorous or serious… or even all of the above. Whether it’s poetry, prose, or something in between, anything goes at a poetry slam.
[The Schnickschnack Slam is organized by the Musenkollektiv—a collective of regional artists with a queer-feminist background—and the Friends of the Düsseldorf Theater Museum, with the kind support of the Düsseldorf Theater Museum.]
