We are delighted that Víctor Coquinche, representative of the indigenous cocoa producers' association Mishki Runa from the Ecuadorian Amazon region, is a guest at FUTURO SI. He will give us a multi-layered insight into the Kichwa culture and the consequences of colonization and globalization. And he shows ways for indigenous communities to lead a self-determined and dignified life. The focus is on sustainable cocoa cultivation and the production of WAYTA chocolate.
Víctor Conquiche will talk about the cultural roots of the Kichwa, the history of slavery during the rubber boom and its impact on his own family, current social and political challenges in the Ecuadorian Amazon as well as the local wildlife and the social projects of Mishki Runa.
The evening will be accompanied by a tasting of different varieties of WAYTA chocolate. In addition to chocolate, we will also be serving other cocoa products such as cocoa tea and selected Latin American wines from our store.
Admission is free. We would be delighted to receive a donation for our children's projects in Latin America!
Please register in good time as the number of places is limited.
