TREIBEN

Excitement, wonder, horror, sadness, disgust, anger, and admiration… The range of human emotions is vast and is played upon almost without pause. Often, these feelings seem to control us, to toy with us—but here, eight artists play with and experiment with them: “Treiben” is an interdisciplinary encounter with and artistic exploration of the facets, interconnections, and depths of human experience.

The writers and language artists Philipp Cyprian, Tabea Farnbacher, Sabine Göttel, Lara Rüter, and Henrik Szántó bring poetry, prose, and spoken word into play from various perspectives and present their texts on the emotions they have selected. The two musicians, Marina Baranova and Damian Marhulets, weave musical pieces and soundscapes into the space and, of course, also perform their own emotional-musical segment. At the same time, light artist Miriam Ebbing envelops the audience in an atmospheric world through live projections and visuals, arranged and composed on-site using Polylux.

The result is an impressionistic evening, unique both acoustically and visually, best enjoyed while lying on comfortable cushions and letting your inner curiosity guide you. The audience is invited to let themselves fall into and drift through these emotional landscapes and performances. Drifting as movement. Drifting as a state of being.
