Schramm - Something Smelling Funny

In the organizer's words:

Something smells funny here. Fishy. Why is the guy with the crooked teeth looking so grim? When I bought his vinyl from him after the show, he actually seemed quite nice. And what's with the fish? There's something fishy about it.
SCHRAMM renounces authenticity. With his third EP "something smelling funny", he releases his most impersonal and unapproachable work to date. Everything is a lie. He doesn't want to talk about his feelings or any of that nonsense. This music has nothing to do with him. He still produces the melancholic, danceable to depressingly energetic post-punk sounds mainly in his small Neukölln cubbyhole. He likes to experiment in the direction of indie rock, pop and sometimes in other directions that he doesn't quite understand himself, but he never loses his own sound in the process.
The EP "something smelling funny" deals with themes such as isolation, emotional isolation, falling in love and blunting world events with a bitter, cynical smile. All wrapped up in a wavy post-punk sound in English and German. With his last few EPs, SCHRAMM has experimentally placed himself somewhere between UK indie rock and post-punk, written a few catchy tunes and has often been asked why he sometimes sings in German and sometimes in English?
He pretends to be prepared to continue being asked this question, but doesn't really believe that he will give a satisfactory answer. Much of what he does comes from his own pen. He calls it DIY mentality or jokingly "his control compulsion", but in truth it's simply an ego thing that he always wants to do everything himself - from production to music videos and so on. (He also occasionally admits that he has a great team) After the sold-out release shows of his second EP in Berlin & Wuppertal and his last single success "Beckenrand" in summer 2024, he played many festivals (e.g. Reeperbahn, CO Pop, Lunatic) and support shows, including as tour support for Isolation Berlin, with his band behind him.
Now a new chapter follows with "something smelling funny", whose lines SCHRAMM.
With his third vinyl in the bag, SCHRAMM will embark on his first headline tour in spring 2026.
