From February 16, 2024, we cordially invite you to the 2nd writing workshop at the Totschka Library in Berlin.

The first writing workshop in 2023 was dedicated to the search and retrieval of language, exploring the theme of personal and family memory in prose and poetry. In contrast, the second writing workshop will focus on the basics of writing.

Over a period of 10 weeks, we will work together to try to grasp the basics of literary writing: Why do we write, what do we write about and how do we write?

As part of this course we will:

- explore why we read and/or write;

- practise the use of metaphor, repetition and rhythm;

- learn about the structure of literary narrative, its laws and how to break them;

- explore the description of events with the senses;

- practise the description of places and circumstances;

- demonstrate literary masterpieces and, of course, write, discuss, rewrite and discuss again.

The writing workshop is aimed at anyone who would like to try their hand at writing fiction, as well as those who simply enjoy reading.

The writing workshop will be led by Wlada Kolosowa (@wlada_kolosowa), who is an author ("Der Hausmann", "Fliegende Hunde"), journalist and columnist (Zeit Online, Neon, jetzt.de, Spiegel Online, Der Tagesspiegel and Die Zeit).

The workshop will last 10 meetings of 3 hours each, on Fridays from February 16 from 18:30 to 21:30.
