Schreibworkshop: Comedy & Storytelling

In the organizer's words:

Comedy writing workshop with practical exercises and punch-ups in a team, for beginners and advanced writers

When: January 13, 2024, 12:00 - 16:00

Where? Mad Monkey Room, Danziger Str. 1, 10435 Berlin

How much? 75 € / 135 € for the combination ticket (allows participation in the workshop January 6 & January 13)

This workshop is aimed at anyone who does or wants to do comedy and would like to improve their storytelling skills. We will focus on the basics of effective storytelling and write and refine our own comedy scenes. If you have often sat in front of a sketch, a reel or a series idea and didn't know what to do next, or felt that something was missing, this workshop could be just the thing for you! The focus is on active writing and collaborative punch-up using Writers' Room methods. Short theoretical inputs are intended to help with conceptualization, convey tricks and methods and facilitate exchange. We want to explore the following questions:

  • What makes effective storytelling?
  • How do I bring interesting characters to life?
  • Where do conflicts arise and how do I turn them into comedy?
  • What characterizes good comedy dialogue?

Max. Number of participants: 10 (If fewer than 3 bookings are made, the workshop will be canceled, in which case the costs will of course be refunded)
