Performance by Miriam Jakob and workshop by Maria Hafner, Dr. Simone Egger, Dr. Susanne Schmitt and Miriam Jakob
Information about the workshop / lecture "Home(s): Sediments"
In the stage landscape of "Schwächezonen", cultural scientist Simone Egger and yodeling and voice artist Maria Hafner explore what can constitute home(s). Through sound and text, they analyze the layering of sediments, take up experiences, undermine assumptions and spin meanings further. An additional level is thus added to the stage: a walk-in image is explored, the participants familiarize themselves with the Hochvogel and its hauntings.

In the poetic and laboratory-like arrangement Schwächezonen, Miriam Jakob explores the parallels between an ageing mountain and itself. In the stage landscape, different levels of representation overlap between stone dummies, digital point clouds and human and rocky zones of weakness. Away from the alpine idyll, Miriam Jakob exposes herself and her audience to the seismographically depictable vibrations from inside the mountain. The unheard-of vibrations and the fragility of the mountain set everything in motion and cause even the mind to sway. With all its means, the theater apparatus invites us to explore our own instabilities along the mountain. In her research for Schwächezonen, Miriam Jakob worked with the dancer Arantxa Martínez and the sound artist Felix Claßen, among others, initially on location in the Allgäu Alps and in dialog with scientists from the GFZ Potsdam and the LMU Munich. The intensive artistic-scientific exchange about the shattering Hochvogel mountain became an important pacemaker for the performance of this multi-layered reflection on shock and the power of transformation.
