David Dietl ("Funeral for a Dog"), son of Munich's iconic director Helmut Dietl, directs "Feste & Freunde - Ein Hoch auf uns!", a clever, charming ensemble comedy about the confusion of emotions, the pitfalls of adulthood - and what really counts in the end.

With a great cast including Laura Tonke, Nicholas Ofczarek, Ronald Zehrfeld, Annette Frier, Antje Traue, Jasmin Shakeri and many more, we follow a clique through lavish parties, botched confessions, great loves and bitter truths - until a stroke of fate changes everything.

When Ellen (Laura Tonke) attends her best friends' 2019 New Year's Eve party, she is hiding a secret: she is having an affair with Sebastian (Ronald Zehrfeld), whom she thinks is the love of her life. But he is married to Eva (Antje Traue) and naturally doesn't want to let on. There is a crackling between Rolf (Nicholas Ofczarek) and Dina (Pegah Ferydoni). There is friction between Mareike (Annette Frier) and Adam (Trystan Pütter). Maya (Katia Fellin) wants children, Natalie (Jasmin Shakeri) can't make up her mind. Then Max (Henning Flüsloh) turns up - he would love Ellen - if only she would let him. The years pass and parties are celebrated as they fall. They love, argue, laugh and get married, children are born, some find each other, others break up. And then a stroke of fate shakes everything up and reminds us that life must be lived intensely, with the best friends and preferably in every single moment!
