As the Arctic ice melts, borders shift. Once inaccessible places and resources are becoming accessible, new claims to raw materials and territories are emerging. The Arctic is changing like never before from a romanticized place of wild, harsh nature to a technological place full of economic interests.

Christoph Oeschger is an artist, filmmaker, photographer and publisher based in Zurich. His work encompasses a broad spectrum of documentary forms of expression. He studied media art at the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design (HfG) and photography at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK). Since 2024 he has been a PhD artist at Uniarts Helsinki and Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK).

In 2014, together with Christof Nüssli, he founded the publishing project cpress, which focuses on artists' books. In 2020, they expanded the project by founding cpress films to produce artists' films.

Oeschger's work has been shown in numerous museums and at film festivals, including the Fotomuseum Winterthur, the Center for Art and Media (ZKM), the Centre de la Photographie Genève, the Ann Arbor Film Festival and the Solothurn Film Festival.
