The London indie pop band Sea Girls released their third album "Midnight Butterflies" in June and have taken their music to a new level. The tracks sound even tighter and more direct than they already do and are concentrated melodic joy and pop perfection in twelve parts. The lead single "Weekend And Workdays" from September already contains one of their strongest choruses, and the pre-released "I Want You To Know Me" also shines with a perfect pop hook, positive lyrics and this great yet catchy melody. This carefree attitude continues throughout the album. The songs embrace the exhilaration of life, and that we have to be smart enough to recognize and appreciate it, says Sea Girls frontman Henry Camamile: "A lot of the record is about being in the moment and trying to escape the everyday. And we've really let off steam here." Since their first EP "Call Me Out" and their first hit of the same name in 2017, the English band have established themselves as one of the most consistent and successful British indie bands. Sea Girls garnered instant acclaim with their early material and now have around a quarter of a billion streams. Their two albums 'Open Up Your Head' from 2020 and 'Homesick' (2022) both topped the UK album charts and landed in the top three. Along the way, they played major gigs at Glastonbury Festival, Reading & Leeds and supported bands such as the Arctic Monkeys and Foals. But "Midnight Butterflies" is now their most impressive work. It is the sound of a band working together in perfect harmony and with an even more positive feeling than ever before. The British quartet have honed their craft after years of touring and have rejuvenated themselves creatively. The Sea Girls' signature sound remains, but it's even stronger now. Of course, this also applies to their live performances, as you will hear and see on their German tour in September.
