Sekret - Eine künstlerische Auseinandersetzung zu Körperflüssigkeiten

In the organizer's words:

The artistic research project "Sekret" is dedicated to the cultural, political and aesthetic significance of human bodily fluids. Building on the performative work "Sekret - Eine Tränen-Bar Performance", in which Wiebke Mueller dealt intensively with emotional crying, the follow-up project now extends the focus to other bodily fluids such as sweat, blood, urine, etc.. At the center are questions about social norms, attributions and physical (self-)control: Who is allowed to sweat, when and how? What emotions or attributions are associated with blood? And how are human secretions negotiated in pop culture, politics and everyday life? The project combines artistic research, text work, costume and character development as well as performative scenes. Sekret" is a multi-layered artistic process at the interface of intimacy, publicity and body politics.
