Professor Gollwitz leads an orderly middle-class life - but a long-forgotten childhood sin lies dormant in his drawer: a play he wrote himself, which his wife in particular must not find out about. When theater director Striese turns up in the provincial town, things get rolling and what begins as a harmless theatrical adventure rapidly develops into a tangible family catastrophe.
In Gero Vierhuff's production at the SfSH, the seemingly dusty tabloid comedy is deliberately broken up and ironically commented on. The result is a turbulent play about appearance and reality and the great love of theater.
