›Shifting Grounds – IN COMMON‹ / Inseln: Praktiken des Gemeinsamen

In the organizer's words:

On the second festival day of 'Shifting Grounds - IN COMMON' , the slag heap will be transformed into an open exploration and festival space throughout the day. Individual islands will be spread across the site and form the unifying framework of the day with workshops by local dancing, a coffee ceremony with Clarisse Akouala, poetry and literature contributions by Orliane Kamwa Kemadjou and BRACHE and a concert by Nadzeya Karakulka . Visitors can go their own way, linger and experience the place at their own pace.

The slag heap will also be used for performances: In Deva Schubert's 'GLITCH CHOIR' , a fragmented lament becomes the starting point for a polyphonic resonance space. Voices and bodies distort and transform - between intimacy, vulnerability and resistance. The Sound Practice Research Collective (students of the Folkwang University of the Arts) will acoustically activate the slag heap during the festival with a sound installation spread across the site. In the evening, this will culminate in an extensive sound performance in which the specially developed SKIA system, which enables the extreme spatialization of sounds, will be used.

On the PACT stage, Radouan Mriziga explores deserts as geographies of wisdom. In 'Magec / the Desert'* , rhythms, text, movement and sound combine to create a polyphony of perspectives on man, nature and knowledge.

*Free admission to all Shifting Grounds events, except for the performances of ' Magec / the Desert' by Radouan Mriziga / A7LA5. Tickets for 'Magec / the Desert' by Radouan Mriziga / A7LA5 are available in advance. When purchasing tickets, you have the option of selecting the price levels (minimum price, reduced price, regular price, supporter price) according to your own assessment.

We also offer a contingent of free tickets so that everyone - regardless of their income - can take part. Simply send us an e-mail to service@pact-zollverein.de.
