›Shifting Grounds – IN COMMON‹ Sommerfestival auf der Halde & bei PACT

In the organizer's words:

With the summer festival 'Shifting Grounds - IN COMMON', PACT invites you to spend three days on the slag heap at Zeche Zollverein. A program of performances, rituals, sound works, workshops, encounters and joint formats will be created between the vast sky, barren ground and wild vegetation.

The slag heap is a made landscape, heaped up from the residues of mining. A special industrial nature has settled on its nutrient-poor soil - robust, resistant and surprisingly diverse. Paths, clearings and visual relationships turn the site into an experiential space in which questions about community, responsibility and the future are posed differently.

'Shifting Grounds - IN COMMON' asks about practices and ideas of the common: How can spaces be shared, relationships perceived and forms of attention to each other and to the environment tested? The festival invites you to explore these questions by walking, listening, lingering and coming together.

Free admission to all Shifting Grounds events, with the exception of the performances of 'Magec / the Desert' by Radouan Mriziga / A7LA5.

Tickets for 'Magec / the Desert' by Radouan Mriziga / A7LA5 are available in advance. When purchasing tickets, you have the option of selecting the price levels (minimum price, reduced price, regular price, supporter price) according to your own assessment.

We also offer a contingent of free tickets so that everyone - regardless of their income - can take part. Simply send us an e-mail to service@pact-zollverein.de.

PROGRAMME

FR 03.07
SPUREN - Ecology of togetherness
To kick off the 'Shifting Grounds - IN COMMON' summer festival, a performative tour of the slag heap will take place. The works approach the landscape from different perspectives: through dance, voice, sound and choreographic settings that directly connect body and environment.

With performances by Annamaria Ajmone, caner teker, Alma Söderberg, Jan St. Werner & Madison Greenstone

SA 04.07.
ISLANDS - Practices of the common
On Saturday, the slag heap will become an open exploration and festival space throughout the day. Individual islands will be spread across the site and will form the unifying framework of the day with workshops, a coffee ceremony, poetry and literature contributions and a concert. Visitors can go their own way, linger and experience the place at their own pace. The slag heap will also be activated performatively and acoustically. On the PACT stage, Radouan Mriziga explores deserts as geographies of wisdom. In his work 'Magec / the Desert', rhythms, text, movement and sound combine to create a polyphony of perspectives on people, nature and knowledge.

With Clarisse Akouala, Orliane Kamwa Kemadjou, Nadzeya Karakulka, Jan St. Werner & Michael Akstaller, BRACHE, SPRK, local dancing, Deva Schubert, Hood Cuisine and Radouan Mriziga / A7LA5

VOICES - resonance and polyphony
On Sunday, voices, community and resonance take center stage. In a singing workshop, a listening session and an artistic contribution and talk, community is not understood as harmony but as a polyphonic space that allows for proximity, difference and friction. The festival ends with a big final concert by the Berlin choir project A Song For You on the PACT terrace.

With Noah Slee, Cute Community, Kukily, Amanda Piña and A Song For You
