As part of the first Tanztriennale Hamburg, we are hosting the Irish musician and choreographer Aoife McAtamney and the head librarian of the Lexicon Library Dublin, Lucy O'Donnell.
The Dance Triennial is a new initiative that aims to make dance visible, strengthen it and recognize it as a socially relevant practice. The first edition will take place in Hamburg from June 14 to 21, 2026. With the COUNTER BALANCE program, it promotes artistic encounters: Tandems from different disciplines work together in residencies - beyond the usual production methods and artistic bubbles.
The residency at LOFFT brings together musician and choreographer Aoife McAtamney and librarian Lucy O'Donnell. They explore the interplay of song, dance and choreography in exchange with literature - and with the unique cosmos of libraries as an inspiring space of experience. The focus is on their interdisciplinary project "Authors", which they are developing outside Ireland for the first time. The aim is to try out new artistic approaches and develop a perspective for a German edition of "Authors". At the same time, they will use their time in Leipzig to network with the local scene and enter into an exchange with the audience.
Free admission, registration required.
