Two outstanding voices of young European jazz - the Mongolian pianist and composer Shuteen Erdenebaatar and the German bassist and clarinettist Nils Kugelmann - invite you on an extraordinary musical journey with their new program "Under the Same Stars".

What began as a personal encounter has become a deep musical dialog between two souls: Shuteen's hypnotic, luminous piano playing meets the mysterious timbres of Kugelmann's contralto clarinet - a rare instrument that becomes the radiant center here. Together they create a world of sound that combines jazz, classical and film music and in which their individual stories, their cultures and their love of music are woven together in their very own way: A poetic, stirring journey of sound that touches the soul.

In recent years, both have established themselves as formative personalities of a new generation. Shuteen Erdenebaatar, born in Mongolia, has lived in Germany since 2018. She has been awarded the German Jazz Prize and the highest cultural prize in her home country. Nils Kugelmann, ACT artist and multiple award-winner, is known for his work with his own trio and his signature style as a composer.

The result is music that doesn't have to be loud to say much - characterized by mutual trust, a keen sense of intimacy and a closeness that goes beyond the purely musical. The intensity of their interplay makes it possible to hear how deeply their lives, their ideas of sound and their affection for each other have become intertwined.
