"Shu Lea Cheang. KI$$ KI$$" is the first institutional survey exhibition of Shu Lea Cheang (born 1954, Tainan, Taiwan) and takes the artist and filmmaker's debut film, Fresh Kill (1994), as a starting point to explore her practices of worldbuilding - the invention and creation of fictional worlds. She presents works from the past three decades and places them in an updated context.

Waste becomes a central theme that guides Cheang's examination of the intertwining of the biosphere and technosphere. Each of the exhibition spaces becomes a world of its own, in which internet-based installations, software interactions and multiplayer performances invite the public to play and explore.
