Eleven-year-old Mona (Dileyla Agirman) has fled Syria with her Kurdish family and attends a school in Berlin's Wedding district. Mona can't speak a word of German, but she can play soccer. The dedicated teacher Mr. Chepovich (Andreas Döhler), or Mr. Che for short, recognizes her extraordinary talent and accepts her into the girls' team. Mona is a fighter, but soon realizes that only if she and the other girls play together can they be winners.
"SIEGER SEIN" is a children's film for kids and adults, a film for soccer fans and soccer haters, a film about a lost home and a new home, a film about escape, loss and battles that are worth fighting for.
