"Silk" is a sensual work that combines dance and fashion. Inspired by the delicate texture and elegance of silk, the artistic director of Dance Theatre Heidelberg (DTH), Iván Pérez, created this dance piece in collaboration with fashion designer Alejandro Palomo, with whom he produced "The Male Dancer" at the Paris Opera Ballet in 2018.

Palomo's exploratory artistic vision creatively blurs the boundaries between masculinity and femininity - in the context of this work, this also alludes to the unique form of sex determination discovered in the silkworm. Fascinated by these findings and based on his earlier examination of masculinity in "The Male Dancer", Pérez now moves beyond binary attributions with "Silk" and knits supple movements into a complex choreographic fabric.
