The Bremer RathsChor invites you to its annual New Year's Eve concert on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at 8.30 pm in the church of St. Ursula, Emmastraße 300/corner of Schwachhauser Heerstr.
Under the direction of its new choirmaster, Kay Philipp Fuhrmann, the impressive "Missa Votiva" by Jan Dismas Zelenka will be performed. In his "Missa Votiva", Zelenka expands almost the entire late baroque catalog of forms: Fugues, concertante movements, operatic arias of the most modern fashion of the time and homophonic choral blocks form an extremely varied ground on which Zelenka was able to bring his artistry to its fullest bloom.
The soloists Friederike Kühl (soprano), Georgia Burashko (alto), Bernd Lambauer (tenor) and Francisco Henriques (bass) complete the ensemble of musicians.
Beforehand, the Göttingen Baroque Orchestra will perform Johann Sebastian Bach's Concerto for Oboe and Violin in C minor, BWV 1060, for the audience. In this concerto, Bach shows how two completely different timbres can harmonize with each other
can harmonize with each other: The vocal oboe and the virtuoso violin. The result is a work full of contrasts, but at the same time full of beauty and inner unity - an ideal example of Bach's ability to combine expression, inventiveness and clarity.
