A Musical High: Bach and Mozart with Lisa Batiashvili and François Leleux

Lisa Batiashvili and François Leleux are back in Potsdam—this time in a thrilling solo competition in Bach’s Double Concerto, which Batiashvili pairs with Mozart’s sophisticated Violin Concerto in D major. As conductor, Leleux opens the evening with Haydn’s playful “La Poule” Symphony and brings the Viennese Classical period to a humorous close with Prokofiev’s First Symphony.

A program that promises surprises, artistic excellence, and great joy in performance—or, as the Märkische Allgemeine Zeitung summed it up after the last joint performance by Batiashvili, Leleux, and the KAP : “An evening that leaves concertgoers ‘stirred up and euphoric as they stagger out of the Nikolaisaal after nearly two hours.’”
