Where are Bremen's singer songwriters? And what moves them?
Singer Songrider wants to give space to people who put their everyday lives into words and sounds. And who we may have already met in the bakery around the corner because they live just two streets away.
The sun will not set on the 5th Singer Songrider - because we are celebrating midsummer with you and thus one of the longest evenings of the year!
With us this time:
As a founding member of the Bremen bands COFFEE & OneDropCollective, Mario Varvarikis has been playing on stages in Bremen and beyond for many years and has made many people dance. His first solo album Painted Rose was released in fall 2020. The Hanseatic native's songs move between folk, blues and offbeats and deal with the life, joys and sorrows of an average dad with a furious glimmer of hope. Mario has just returned from a trip around the world and we are curious to see if he has brought back one or two new songs from this time. And we're looking forward to it!
SOLEIL VERT 3112
Fundamentally contradictory - but miraculously complementary! A dread with a bow - the tamed wild one - a green sun! 🙂
Founded in 2021, the duo Soleil Vert 3112 presents you with a dark and bright mixture of their own repertoire and a wide range of cover songs. Freely interpreted, from ska punk to Beyoncé, from Edith Piaf to Heinrich Heine. It's about gut feeling - about listening and not understanding - about letting go and holding on - about saving and being saved. Emotional dynamics and always rubato. Resisting life and loving it uncannily.
Julie touches the piano with classical softness, while Sven comes along with dynamic percussion and sometimes even picks up the bass!
Ragna Lemontree
At many concerts in Germany and Italy, Ragna Lemontree has already taken her audience on a journey through the thoughts and feelings of her folky indie pop sounds, which sometimes also have a slightly mystical quality. Her first release was the single Wet Grass, Rotten to the Core then the first EP. Consisting of four songs relating to the darker side of life, this debut is very personal. Especially as all the songs were recorded at home in the living room.
The singer-songwriter from Bremen deals with freedom and love in her music and offers plenty of points of reference. You are invited to cry along, dance, sway and scream into your favorite pillow (uhh, please bring pillows, there aren't that many at the head office 😀 ).
Well, that'll be something, we're looking forward to it!
