SINGET! 40 Jahre Capella Vocale München

In the organizer's words:

SINGET! This has been the motto of the Capella Vocale München choir for 40 years. At the anniversary concert on February 8, 2026 in the Sendlinger Himmelfahrtskirche, the established choir will celebrate together with the baroque ensemble Concert München and the soloists Laura Hemingway (mezzo-soprano), Julian Habermann (tenor) and Marlo Honselmann (baritone).

At the heart of the concert is the New Year's cantata "Singet dem Herrn ein neues Lied" by J.S. Bach, which is permeated and commented on by the commissioned composition "untitled III (Atem der Statuen)" by composer Steven Heelein. The Capella Vocale choir not only celebrates its milestone birthday with sonorous splendor, but also uses subtle nuances to highlight what has characterized the choir for four decades: listening attentively and creating a convincing large-scale musical form from careful rehearsals.

The Bach-inspired motet "Singet dem Herrn" by Sven-David Sandström rounds off the program.

An artist talk with the composer Steven Heelein will take place before the concert at 16:00.
