Slow Dating - Begegnung mit Tiefe
In the organizer's words:
Slow Dating – Meaningful Connections
Time for genuine, mindful, and playful encounters
How about truly connecting with someone—beyond small talk, expectations, and snap judgments?
At our Slow Dating event at the Zollhaus Willich, we take our time: time to settle in. Time to observe. Time to get to know one another in different ways.
In a small, intimate group of no more than 16 people, you’ll meet 6–8 singles—sometimes through conversation, sometimes in a quiet moment, and sometimes through a simple, guided exercise.
Here’s how the evening unfolds
- Arrival & Warm-up (approx. 15 min): You’ll settle into the room at your own pace and receive a clear introduction.
- Getting-to-Know-You Sessions (approx. 90 min): You’ll get to know different people through a variety of activities—sometimes lighthearted and playful, sometimes more quiet and personal.
- Open Wrap-Up (approx. 45 min): Over tea and light snacks, there’s space for free-flowing conversation, deeper connection, and—if it feels right—exchanging contact information.
You’ll be guided through the evening while still being free to move about—at your own pace and within your own boundaries.
What makes this evening special
- 6–8 genuine encounters instead of fleeting conversations
- A calm, warm atmosphere without the pressure of dating
- Activities that make conversations more lively and personal
- Moments of lightness, depth, and perhaps even surprise
Some exercises encourage conscious eye contact or mindful, voluntary touch (e.g., holding hands). Everything is an invitation. You decide at any time what feels right for you.
Who is this for?
For singles aged approximately 40–65 who long for genuine connection and are open to meeting people in a new way.
Your hosts
We, Habib & Kathrin, create a mindful space where you can feel safe and be yourself—just as you are.
Answers to frequently asked questions:
What should I bring?
An open mind and curiosity. Please also bring a bottle of water. We’ll provide tea and light snacks on-site.
How should I dress?
Whatever makes you feel comfortable. Comfortable, neat, and authentic—there’s no specific dress code.
How do we exchange contact information?
At the end of the evening, there will be about 45 minutes for informal conversation over tea and snacks. During this time, you can easily exchange contact information—if it feels right to you.
How many people will I meet?
You’ll usually meet 6–8 different singles over the course of the evening.
Do I have to participate in touch exercises?
No. Everything is voluntary. You set your own boundaries.
How is this different from speed dating?
The only thing they have in common is that you meet different people. However, the way you interact with other singles is completely different—it’s much more relaxed, deeper, and varied.
What language is the event held in?
The event is primarily conducted in German. However, you can easily participate in English—we make sure that all exercises and explanations are understandable for English-speaking participants and that everyone feels included.
