In recent years, more than ten much-performed mobile classroom productions have been created at the Deutsches Theater, always seeking thematic proximity to the lifeworld of the young audience: from conspiracy theories to social media and gaming to the pressure to perform and political co-determination.
In the 2023/24 season, director Damian Popp and author Hannah Zufall are developing a mobile play that explores the theme of legacy. "You can do anything if you just believe in it!" is one promise, but not everyone runs from the same starting line: what we inherit conditions how we get away. What does each inherit, what does everyone inherit together? Property empowers, property separates. And better not to talk about it. But not only monetary things are left behind, also networks, history, knowledge, tradition, passports and last but not least: the state of the planet. Inheritance is coincidence, it falls into our laps or not - without us having worked for it, or being able to do anything about it. Inheritance belongs to redistribute! Or does the lottery of life also have its positive sides? What do we want to inherit and how, and what do we want to bequeath and to whom?
The Theater Mobil format brings the theater directly to your school and other places. With great flexibility, the classroom, the youth club, a neighborhood center, the neighborhood garden or the locker room of a soccer club is transformed into a stage. The theater productions come to all parts of the city and nearby Brandenburg. You too can book this mobile production at: theater.mobil@deutschestheater.de . Current dates and booking modalities can be found on our website.
