In the organizer's words:
The Neue Synagoge Foundation sees itself as both a place of remembrance and a place of encounter. The center connects Jewish history with Jewish life today and creates spaces for exchange, reflection, and diverse perspectives.
This summer, we are using a space that would otherwise be filled with exhibitions to try something new. Digital elements bring past places and stories to life in new ways, demonstrating what new forms of remembrance might look like. And original fragments of the former prayer hall, along with film footage and objects from our collection that would otherwise remain hidden, serve as tangible traces of the past and allow us to reexamine it.
At the same time, we look ahead and ask ourselves—and you: Which memories should remain, and which gaps should be filled? How do we move forward in a world that is constantly undergoing upheaval and offers little room to pause and reflect?
