Blockbuster Soundsystem

The Blockbuster Soundsystem consisting of the DJs Kärr Blockbuster, Tschäck Blockbuster, Selec, Sini LikkleLuv and MC Flag Blockbuster from Dortmund is known beyond the city limits. Be it because of the NiceUp Party in the Großmarktschänke, where they have been setting the tone for over 12 years, or because of the legendary Tuktuk Soundmobile, which thrills the crowds at various festivals, demos and all kinds of happenings (Juicybeats, CSD Cologne and many more).
Possibly also because of the legendary Dojo, the headquarters in the heart of Dortmund. Either way, there's no reason to miss one of the shows if you want to shake a leg to Caribbean sounds and the like.

The name says it all.

Askin Kaleli has brought together various veterans from NRW for this formation.
In addition to breaking, you can look forward to popping, electric boogaloo, power moves and acrobatic style elements.

Rough Rabbit

Beatmaker, freestyler, all-rounder: Rough Rabbit from the Pott

From the dusty backyards of Dortmund, Rough Rabbit makes his voice heard - with a sound that is just as dirty and colorful as the city itself. As a beat producer who also masters the mic, Rough Rabbit mixes the finest hip-hop instrumentals with a modern trap sound and skateboard vibes.

He has conjured up beats with scene greats such as Figub Brazlevič from Berlin and Baronski from Münster, dropped a remix for Morlockk Dilemma and made a name for himself far beyond the city limits. For battlerap fans in particular, the MONEO collabo album with Lyrico is must-have material for every underground playlist. And as a DJ? He's already been behind the decks for DLTLLY at the Splash! festival.

He regularly releases new beat tapes that get producer nerds and rapheads alike nodding their heads. Whether in the studio or on the backyard stage - Rough Rabbit remains hungry, unpolished and is ready for every drop, like his board under his arm.

Estelate

Estelate has been producing beats since around 2014, back then still under the name Aka Sessionmacher. He grew up with the sound of Golden Era hip hop from the 90s, starting out with an MPC 1000 and, like so many at the time, was heavily influenced by producers such as Pete Rock, Madlib, J Dilla and 9th Wonder.

In the meantime, he has tried out different musical paths, plays several instruments such as bass guitar and trumpet in addition to the drum machine and is always trying to push the known boundaries.

Patina Records

Statement rap bangers, dance hits and a lot of hunger - that's what the Dortmund rap collective Patina Records stands for. The artists impress with their variety of influences and backgrounds, which are innovatively combined to create a sound that is second to none and should not be missing from any playlist. Here, ignorant new wave meets OG German rap, techno meets the 80s and catchy hooks meet bars that are just waiting to be immortalized in social media captions. A constellation that, despite their differences, pursues a common vision that constantly scratches at the ravages of time without blindly following them.

JuJu Rogers

Born to an American G.I. from New Orleans & his German mother with Austrian roots, rapper JuJu Rogers grew up between two worlds in the working class town of Schweinfurt, Germany. At the time, more than 10,000 American soldiers were stationed at the US army base in his hometown, shaping the cultural identity of the city and the young JuJu. Listening to his father's jazz and soul record collection and playing the trumpet from a young age, Juju Rogers developed a deep understanding of music and the different cultures behind it. But it wasn't until he was a teenager that he fell for hip-hop and started writing his own songs. Since then, he has developed outstanding lyrical skills and continues to prove his versatility as a rapper by touring throughout Europe. He has collaborated with Grammy-nominated artists such as Mick Jenkins, Jesse Royal and Kumar from The Raging Fyah.
