The True Story of Hamlet

Who doesn’t know him—Hamlet, the famous Danish prince, who is bound to avenge his father, murdered by his uncle... but doesn’t dare. Shakespeare’s tragedy ends with eight deaths and the famous line, “The rest is silence.” But what if things weren’t quite as we believe them to be?

Horatio, Hamlet’s loyal friend and the sole survivor, steps out of the shadows and tells us his version of the story. An attempt meant to change everything: no bloodbath, no war—instead, a vision of peace, a peaceful revolution that Hamlet was supposed to lead. But what if old power structures and revolution clash? What if personal ties collide with politics?

This captivating solo production deconstructs the familiar elements of the play *Hamlet* and takes us on a moving journey full of intrigue, dreams, and love—navigating friendship, cunning, and the eternal conflict between peace and violence. Horatio tackles the timeless question of truth and power and shows us how these themes continue to affect us even today.

It makes us laugh, marvel, and pause—while at the same time bringing us closer to the question that is as pressing today as it was then: What do we do when everything is at stake?
