The success story of the poetry slam is unparalleled on German stages. From small underground events in front of a few enthusiasts, the spectacle of words has developed into the country's largest literary movement and has long since played on the big stage. The Songslam is now a playful innovation. The rules follow the tradition of the poetry slam: each musical act tries to win the hearts of the audience with self-written songs in a limited time. An audience jury hands out scores for each performance, allowing them to put together their own favorite concert over several rounds.
