The name TRICKPATH stands for the solo project of Düsseldorf musician, multi-instrumentalist and producer Gregor Kerkmann.

Known to a wider audience through his work as a double bass player and founding member of the band CHOGORI, composer for the Düsseldorf Schauspielhaus, as well as various collaborations, including with musicians from the Düsseldorf electronica scene, Gregor goes his own way with his solo project TRICKPATH and draws on his wide-ranging musical background: electronica, noise, jazz, funk, wave, classical music, post-rock and even singer/songwriter-oriented guitar music, perhaps describing the direction in which music can flow.

...on the table are various small self-made devices and all sorts of odds and ends: electronic sound generators, motors, percussion instruments, springs, rubbers and lots of cables. I play with all these things and arrange fleeting and unstable set-ups, which are made to vibrate and sound through the smallest movements and interactions and are amplified by contact microphones and pickups. As the machines and circuits often follow their own logic, many things elude controlled play.
