Sonic Interventions JAZZFESTIVAL FREIBURG 2026

Sonic Interventions emerged from weekly open-air jam sessions in 2020. Since then, the transdisciplinary, diaspora-futuristic band has established itself as one of Berlin's most renowned underground jazz collectives. Known for live spectacles in which moments of meditation and trance alternate with heavy grooves, the band combines poetry and dance inspired by the cosmos and the ancestors.

Sonic Interventions appeared at Le Guess Who?, ÜBERJAZZ Hamburg, Fusion Festival, XJAZZ! Berlin, the Rudolstadt Festival and many other festivals. In 2023, they played alongside US jazz star Immanuel Wilkins at Jazz Montez (Frankfurt). Their long-awaited debut album was released in November 2024 via Agogo Records and has been generating enthusiasm ever since:

The Jazzfestival is a cooperation between the E-WERK Freiburg and the jazzhaus Freiburg. The Freiburg Jazz Festival is funded by the city of Freiburg and the state of Baden-Württemberg, sponsored by Sparkasse Freiburg - Nördlicher Breisgau and the Ganter brewery. The 2026 piano competition is kindly supported by Haufe-Lexware, Sparkasse Freiburg and the Volker Homann Foundation.
