Sonja Eismann has been researching and writing about sexism and gender representations in pop for years. In her new book "Candy Girls: Sexism in the Music Industry", she not only takes a critical look at the music industry and its inherently sexist structures, but also shows how women in other pop-cultural contexts suffer under the patriarchal system.
