Abderraouf Derradji aka Soolking is one of the biggest French-language pop stars in the world and has achieved a staggering 13 billion streams worldwide. The Algerian-born rapper and singer was a dancer and even a drummer in a rock band before moving to Paris, where his rap and R&B career took off. Even more surprising for an English-speaking audience is the polyglot intercontinental fusion of styles that characterizes his hugely popular music. This melodic and catchy blend of French street rap and sung passages, R&B, reggaeton and raï is simply fun to listen to. He started out as part of the Algerian formation Africa Jungle, but Soolking's breakthrough as a soloist came in 2018 when he appeared on the "Planète Rap" show on French radio station Skyrock FM. His freestyle titled "Guerilla" combined many unique, appealing aspects of his work. Since then, Soolking has continued to release major singles that have cemented his place in the French megastar pop firmament. His first two albums, "Fruit du Démon" and "Vintage", both went platinum. Since then, the multi-faceted artist has continued his rise on the international scene. Thanks to his numerous collaborations with artists from all over the world, he has built up a loyal fan base in many countries in recent years. In May 2022, he released his third longplayer "Sans Visa" with the hit single "Suavemente", which was once again certified platinum in France and abroad. His latest release "Casanova" picks up right where he left off. The track was released in several feature versions, including one in German with rapper Milano at the end of October. A new album will follow, and Soolking will be coming to us on tour in May.
