on the summer stage at Neues Schauspiel Leipzig

Since the beginning of 2026, there have been two new literary shows in Leipzig: SpeakEasy - the only literary show that mixes fact, fiction and booze (Cammerspiele Leipzig) and Balagan - Jewish voices of the present (Neues Schauspiel Leipzig). Both are presented by Rebecca Maria Salentin.

The two shows now meet on the summer stage of the Neues Schauspiel. In keeping with the current men's soccer World Cup, the focus will be on this very sport, with two high-caliber guests.

Anne Rabe's essay "Politik ja bitte" was recently published by Lampe Verlag. In it, the author demands that politics belongs in the stadium. Together with Monty Ott, Ruben Gerczikow has published "Juden auf dem Platz, Juden auf den Rängen" (Jews on the pitch, Jews in the stands) in 2025. The book deals with the realities of Jewish life and anti-Semitism in soccer today.
