A project about water, memory, flight and connection
"Tiha voda brege valja... - Stilles Wasser rauscht ..." is a supra-regional, interdisciplinary exchange project by artists from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Munich - with guests and audio-visual events in Bavaria and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The aim is to artistically tell stories of rivers, flight, corruption and hope and to stimulate a dialog about the past, present and future.2025 marks a special year: it is 30 years since decisions were made that have shaped two rivers - the Isar in Munich and the Neretva in Bosnia and Herzegovina - in different ways.
- In 1995, an ambitious renaturation project began in Munich with the Isar Plan.
- 1995 saw the end of the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina with the Dayton Agreement
- In 1995, the deportations of refugees - including from Munich - to Bosnia and Herzegovina began.
- In 1995, the reconstruction of the Stari Most, the old bridge of Mostar, began - a powerful symbol of destruction, separation and hope.
While the Isar is now considered a successfully renaturalized river, the Neretva and other river systems in south-eastern Europe are under massive threat from current construction projects. What is at stake is nothing less than the preservation of one of the most species-rich river landscapes in Europe - an "evolutionary cradle" of diversity.
Manuela Unverdorben and IRiS Špringer will present the project outline on Sunday, June 8 at 6 pm in the foyer of the Glockenbachwerkstatt and cordially invite all interested parties to contribute their own stories, perspectives and ideas.
Take part. Remember. Design.
Together we want to let the water speak - about what was, what is and what can be.

DAY 3 / 09.06.
from 4 pm Beer garden and exhibitions are open!
8 pm Concert: ITHAK (rock, psyche, jazz, fusion from FR)
ITHAK (Institut Techno Harmonique d'Accordage Kosmique) is a multilingual band that has been touring Europe for over 10 years. Founded in 2005 by Seb El Zin, it combines psychedelic rock, dub, Turkish pop, industrial, jazz and more to create a cosmopolitan, poetic and often political sound. Inspired by music of all kinds as well as literature (e.g. Orwell, Burroughs), the band reinvents itself with every album. Their trademarks are powerful lyrics, surprising melodies, deep baritone sax basses and energetic drums - an unclassifiable sound without boundaries.
