Under the motto "StabiLiebling", the Bavarian State Library opens its vaults and presents a top item from its collections in its treasure chamber for two days every month. In addition to exquisite manuscripts, rare maps, music collections and millions of historical photos, the library also preserves spectacular artists' books, world-class Asiatica, Hebraica and Orientalia and much more ...

On April 15 and 16, a particularly beautiful and lavishly colored copy of the Bairische Landtafeln by Philipp Apian will be on display in the State Library's Treasury. The basis for the 24 small-format maps of Bavaria was the impressive so-called "Great Map". Printed in Ingolstadt in 1568, the Landtafeln represent the powerful roots of old Bavarian cartography up to the end of the 18th century.
