StattTour by 105/VIERTEL x Active City Day Hamburg

On Hamburg City Day, we invite you to a special tour of the HafenCity district: On the StattTour, you will experience what Hamburg feels like in a wheelchair - right in the middle of it instead of just being there. You start at Sandtorkai and explore the area around the Elbphilharmonie, Dalmannkai, Marco Polo Terraces, Platz der Deutschen Einheit and Magellan Terraces with our guide Daniela.

Along the way, you will experience first-hand how kerbs, steps, ramps, terraces and toilets in public spaces shape the everyday lives of wheelchair users.

The focus is on our guides, who are themselves wheelchair users. Daniela gives you an introduction to using wheelchairs, shares anecdotes from her life and is open to your questions. She shows what inclusion means in everyday life - directly, humorously and at eye level. She will be accompanied by a walking person who will help her set up and take down the wheelchairs. We at 105 VIERTEL are a social enterprise with the vision of making Hamburg the city with the highest quality of life - for all people in all 105 districts. With the StattTours, we create a space in which your questions and impressions come together with the experiences of the guides. In this way, you can overcome your fear of contact, gain new perspectives and experience Hamburg from an unusual but very approachable point of view.
