The British Afro-jazz collective Steam Down is something like the epitome of everything that London's music scene currently stands for. Since 2017, the who's who of UK jazz have been meeting under this label in the south-east of the British metropolis for weekly live performances that are always created in the moment and reliably lead to ecstatic nights. Kamasi Washington, Sampa The Great and Nubya Garcia are just some of the names that have enriched the community event in recent years. The electrifying sessions eventually evolved into a band, led by multi-instrumentalist Ahnansé, whose exciting sound brings together the musical foundations of Afrofuturism, grime and future soul with the spontaneity of jazz. The band's performances are collective experiences in which artists and audience form a community that resonates far beyond the concerts. After appearances at festivals such as Gilles Peterson's We Out Here, the Montreux Jazz Festival and SXSW, Steam Down are no longer an insider tip - and are now coming to Bremen for an exclusive German concert for the first time!
